1. Ownership

Except where otherwise credited, all content on the Sherman Oaks 100 website ("the Site") — including but not limited to the centennial seal, brand mark, written text, page layout, graphics, illustrations, audio, and video — is © 2027 Sherman Oaks 100 Centennial Committee, or used with permission of the rights holder.

"Sherman Oaks 100" and the centennial seal design are unregistered marks used to identify the centennial celebration. Their use should not imply endorsement by the Sherman Oaks 100 Centennial Committee absent prior written permission.

2. Third-party material

The Site may include third-party material — historic photographs, archive content, sponsor logos, partner organization marks, music, video — used with permission, under license, or as fair use for community informational purposes. Where third-party material is identifiable, we try to credit the rights holder near the material.

If you believe content on the Site uses your work without proper authorization or credit, please write us at hello@example.com and we will respond promptly.

3. Permitted personal & community use

You're welcome to:

  • View and print pages from the Site for personal, non-commercial use.
  • Share links to the Site freely on social media, in newsletters, and anywhere else.
  • Quote short passages with credit ("Sherman Oaks 100") and a link back to the page you're quoting.
  • Use centennial event information to promote your participation in events (for example: an organization announcing that it's helping host a centennial program).

4. Uses that require permission

Please ask us first for:

  • Reproducing substantial portions of Site content in print or online.
  • Using the centennial seal, name, or logo on merchandise, packaging, signage, or anywhere it could imply official affiliation.
  • Any commercial use of Site content or brand elements.
  • Republishing photos, video, or archive material hosted on the Site beyond personal reference use.

To request permission, write us at hello@example.com with a brief description of how and where you'd like to use the content. We're usually glad to say yes for community-aligned uses, and we appreciate the ask.

5. Attribution

When you use Site content with permission, attribute it clearly: "Sherman Oaks 100 Centennial Committee," with a link to the relevant page on this Site where practical.

6. Reporting concerns

If you spot copyrighted material on the Site that should not be there — whether yours or someone else's — please email hello@example.com. Include a description of the work, where it appears on the Site, and your contact information. We will investigate and respond promptly.

7. Open-source acknowledgments

This Site uses freely available web fonts (Fraunces and Inter, served via Google Fonts under the SIL Open Font License) and standard open web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript). No paid third-party libraries are bundled into the Site.

8. Changes

This notice may be updated as the centennial project evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above.

This notice is intentionally plain-spoken and intended to be readable. It is not a substitute for legal advice.
